Tenerife apuesta por la revitalización de los caminos rurales en una estrategia común junto a Suecia e Italia

La Isla acoge un seminario internacional sobre trashumancia y las rutas que acogen esta actividad el próximo 5 de septiembre, en el Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre.

La consejera de Patrimonio Histórico del Cabildo, Josefa Mesa, ha informado hoy jueves [día 30], junto al director general de Patrimonio Cultural del Gobierno de Canarias, Miguel Ángel Clavijo, de la celebración en la Isla del ‘III Seminario Internacional sobre Vías de Transhumancia y Caminos Rurales’. Se trata de una actividad organizada en colaboración con el Gobierno de Canarias, que tendrá lugar el próximo 5 de septiembre, en el Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre, en la que participarán instituciones de Suecia e Italia. Durante el mismo se profundizará de una forma multidisciplinar en el conocimiento de las principales rutas de esta actividad y de los sistemas viarios tradicionales en las estrategias de desarrollo territorial en Europa.

Este Seminario será el escenario para presentar el proyecto internacional ‘Vías de trashumancia y caminos rurales. Una red europea de itinerarios tradicionales’ y la asociación internacional ‘Vías de trashumancia y caminos rurales’. Supone un paso más en la conservación del patrimonio cultural y su vinculación con la trashumancia y los caminos públicos de alto valor patrimonial.

Josefa Mesa explicó en su intervención ante los medios de comunicación que la intención de la Corporación insular, al sumarse a esta iniciativa en la que también participan otras regiones de Suecia e Italia, es “profundizar en el conocimiento de las principales rutas de la trashumancia, algo que ha sido muy importante a lo largo de la historia. Se trata de algo que ha generado actividad social, cultural y desarrollo económico”. “Ha supuesto –añadió- un elemento de intercambio y de prosperidad en el territorio”.

La consejera insular hizo especial hincapié en que el Cabildo “quiere seguir recuperando los caminos históricos a la vez que fortalece las relaciones internacionales entre diferentes regiones europeas y crea sinergias sociales y culturales”.  “De ahí –indicó- que participemos en el proyecto internacional y en la puesta en marcha de la asociación que van a abordar las vías de trashumancia y los caminos rurales”.

El director general de Patrimonio Cultural de Gobierno de Canarias, Miguel Ángel Clavijo, resaltó la calidad de estas actuaciones “que implican a otras regiones europeas y que tienen la virtud de recoger esa parcela de la historia de la Isla asociada a su patrimonio, con la que se da visibilidad a nuestra gente”. De igual modo, manifestó que el proyecto internacional ‘Vías de trashumancia y caminos rurales. Una red europea de itinerarios tradicionales’ “debe tener continuidad y proyección en el tiempo”.

La influencia de la trashumancia y de la articulación de los caminos tradicionales en el territorio ha generado un conjunto de valores sociales, culturales y económicos que han dado como resultado una identidad cultural europea. En esta línea, este seminario se ofrece como un instrumento para la conservación, difusión y recuperación de este rico patrimonio común que contribuye además el desarrollo socioeconómico de la población local.

Programa

Las actividades se iniciarán el jueves [día 5 de septiembre] a las 09,00 horas con la inauguración del evento por parte de la consejera insular de Patrimonio Histórico, Josefa Mesa; y el director general de Patrimonio Cultural del Gobierno de Canarias, Miguel Ángel Clavijo. Posteriormente intervendrá Barbro Frizell, catedrática de Arqueología Clásica en la Universidad de Uppsala y en el Instituto Sueco de Estudios Clásicos de Roma, que ofrecerá una ponencia titulada ‘Rutas de trashumancia y paisaje: una perspectiva europea y el caso italiano’.

La jornada continuará con un panel de cuatro comunicaciones. La primera de ellas, que impartirá la arquitecta Simona Messina, se referirá a las rutas de trashumancia entre Lazio y Maremma, con especial atención al caso de Dogana di Blera. A continuación, Felipe Monzón, profesor del Departamento de Técnicas y Proyectos en Ingeniería y Arquitectura de la Universidad de La Laguna, hablará sobre la arquitectura popular vinculada a la trashumancia en Canarias.

El tema de la tercera comunicación será la ‘Escuela de campo y el significado de la trashumancia en la educación de los docentes’, a cargo de la profesora Sandra Chistolini, de la Universidad de Roma. La jornada de la mañana concluirá con la intervención de Carlo Valorani, arquitecto de la Universidad de la Sapienza, y la arquitecta María Elisabetta Cattaruzza, que abordará las pautas de la trashumancia en los paisajes de Lazio.

Por la tarde, a partir de las 16,00 horas, tendrá lugar una mesa redonda con representantes de municipios de Tenerife vinculados con el Camino Real de Chasna, concretamente Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava, Los Realejos, Vilaflor y Granadilla de Abona.

‘Trashumancia en el extremo norte y migraciones con renos’, que será la ponencia del doctor Kjell Aronsson, director del Museo de Áttje de Cultura Popular Sami (Suecia), y el proyecto ‘Vías de trashumancia y caminos rurales. Una red de itinerarios tradicionales’, a cargo del geógrafo Juan Cano, serán las comunicaciones que cierren la tercera edición del seminario.

El Cabildo de Tenerife pretende desarrollar iniciativas de este tipo junto a otras administraciones públicas y entidades privadas de ámbito internacional, estatal, regional, insular y municipal para avanzar en la coordinación efectiva en pro del patrimonio caminero de esta Isla y de toda Canarias.

Tenerife cuenta con una extensa red de tramos de caminos (senderos homologados, caminos declarados BIC, senderos accesibles y caminos comunitarios, entre otros). El municipio con mayor número de ellos es La Orotava, que incluye el Parque Nacional del Teide, seguido de Granadilla de Abona y Los Realejos. Los que presentan menor presencia de caminos con una gran diversidad tipológica y número son los municipios de Tegueste, Puerto de la Cruz, La Guancha, San Miguel de Abona, Arona y Adeje.

Proyecto internacional

El Cabildo de Tenerife, como representación de España y en el marco del camino real de Chasna, ha iniciado en este año, en colaboración con otras regiones europeas como son la cultura Sami en Suecia y la región de la Campaña Romana y norte de Roma en Italia, el proyecto internacional denominado ‘Vías de trashumancia y caminos rurales. Una red europea de itinerarios tradicionales’.

Este proyecto internacional se promueve desde Canarias a través de la Consejería de Patrimonio Histórico del Cabildo de Tenerife, la Universidad de La Laguna y la Dirección General de Patrimonio Cultural del Gobierno de Canarias. Nace con la idea de poder optar como candidato a la Red de Itinerarios Culturales Europeos; una iniciativa que promueve el Consejo de Europa, desde hace más de 30 años y que tiene como caminos emblemáticos al Camino de Santiago, a la Ruta de Mozart y a la Ruta de los Vikingos, entre otros.

Cuenta con expertos, profesionales, profesores universitarios e investigadores de los tres países y presenta tres ejes principales. En primer lugar, propiciar la investigación en relación a la revalorización del patrimonio caminero y la trashumancia en Europa; en segundo lugar, el fortalecimiento de las relaciones internacionales entre regiones y países europeos; y, en tercer lugar, propiciar un lugar de intercambio de experiencias, crear sinergias entre personas, instituciones y entidades que tomen como base el acervo cultural europeo común.

Asociación internacional

El primer paso para consolidar de manera oficial la colaboración y la investigación multidisciplinar, iniciadas desde hace más de 3 años, entre la cultura de los Sami en Suecia, la región de la Campaña Romana y norte de Roma en Italia y Tenerife, España, es la firma, el próximo día 6 de septiembre, en la Universidad de La Laguna, de la creación de la Asociación internacional ‘Vías de trashumancia y caminos rurales’. La misma está vinculada con el proyecto internacional ‘Vías de trashumancia y caminos rurales. Una red europea de itinerarios tradicionales’, puesto que será el vínculo colaborativo oficial entre las partes.

La citada Asociación tendrá como entidades firmantes, en esta primera fase, a la Universidad de La Laguna como institución de referencia, la Università Roma Tre, el Instituto Sueco de Estudios Clásicos en Roma y el Museo de la Cultura Sami de Suecia.

La intención de las instituciones académicas y administrativas que coordinan e impulsan esta iniciativa desde Canarias (Universidad de La Laguna, Consejería de Patrimonio Histórico del Cabildo de Tenerife y Dirección General de Patrimonio Cultural del Gobierno de Canarias), es que se sumen otras entidades, ayuntamientos e instituciones desde Canarias y fuera de aquí, para que se consolide con carácter insular, regional, nacional, europeo e internacional.

La Asociación ‘Vías de trashumancia y caminos rurales’ está relacionada con el proyecto homónimo y que opta como candidato a la Red de Itinerarios Culturales Europeos; una iniciativa que promueve el Consejo de Europa, desde hace más de 30 años y que tiene como caminos emblemáticos al Camino de Santiago, la Ruta de Mozart y la Ruta de los Vikingos, entre otros.
