El XV Festival y Academia de Música Internacional ofrece en San Miguel un programa con diez conciertos

El XV Festival y Academia de Música Internacional, que se desarrollará en San Miguel de Abona del 17 al 24 de febrero, ofrece una decena de conciertos de música de cámara y la cuarta edición del Concurso Internacional Agustín Aponte para instrumentos de cuerda y piano, que ha batido este año todos los records de participación, con 82 inscritos.

Los detalles de esta nueva edición fueron dados a conocer hoy [jueves 14] por el director insular de Cultura, José Luis Rivero; el alcalde de San Miguel, Arturo González, y el presidente de la Asociación Canaria de Amigos de la Música, Dionisio González, en el transcurso de una rueda de prensa celebrada en el Cabildo.

José Luis Rivero señaló que este festival “es un evento importante no solo para la zona sur, sino para toda la Isla” y destacó la doble faceta que aglutina. “Además de los conciertos, quiero resaltar la faceta de academia y también del concurso, único que se celebra en Canarias para estos instrumentos”. Asimismo citó a Jung Chul Choi como alma mater de esta actividad y apuntó que “su tenacidad y su amplio conocimiento han permitido que durante años muchos jóvenes se hayan enamorado de la música en el sur de Tenerife”.

El alcalde de San Miguel, Arturo González, agradeció la colaboración del Cabildo y reafirmó que con este festival “manifestamos que somos un municipio que apuesta por la cultura y hemos detectado en todos estos años que la música clásica interesa en nuestra zona, no solo para residentes sino también para conseguir que los turistas que nos visitan puedan disfrutar de cultura de calidad en San Miguel”.

Por su parte, el presidente de la Asociación Canaria de Amigos de la Música, Dionisio González, mostró su satisfacción por la colaboración que siempre encuentran en el Cabildo y en el Gobierno de Canarias. “Trabajamos durante todo el año para conseguir que los alumnos y profesores se encuentren a gusto durante su estancia en la Isla”. González indicó que se han visto desbordados con la participación, que se ha incrementado en un 20 por ciento respecto a la edición anterior.

Este festival, apoyado por el Cabildo de Tenerife, contará con la presencia de la flautista Mihi Kim (Corea del Sur); las violinistas Judith Choi Castro (Tenerife), Andrea Kim (Alemania) y Soojin Han (Corea del Sur); los pianistas Aurélien Pontier (Francia), Bo-Kyung Park (Estados unidos) y John Paul Ekins (Reino Unido); el viola Sviatoslav Belonogov (Kazajistán) y violonchelista Raúl Mirás (Galicia).

El Festival y Academia de Música Internacional se creó en 1991 con el propósito de intercambiar conocimientos y experiencias musicales entre profesores y estudiantes de Tenerife con los de otros países, entre los que se encuentran Corea del Sur, Alemania, Italia y Reino Unido.

Respecto al IV Concurso Internacional Agustín Aponte para instrumentos de cuerda y piano, los aspirantes son músicos jóvenes (hasta 32 años) que proceden de diferentes países del mundo. A través de este certamen, la organización rinde un homenaje a Agustín Aponte, co-fundador y antiguo presidente de la Asociación Amigos de la Música. Este concurso tendrá lugar del 17 al 20 de febrero, siendo este último día cuando se realice la entrega de los premios en el Auditorio del hotel Aguamarina Golf del Sur de San Miguel.

El tribunal del concurso está presidido por el director y co-presidente de la Asociación de Amigos de la Música, Jung Chul Choi. Esta convocatoria ha recibido este año 82 aspirantes, 46 de los cuales optan al premio en la categoría de piano y el resto a la de cuerda.

Programación del Festival:

Domingo 17 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en el Auditorio del hotel Aguamarina, en San Miguel de Abona. Se desarrollará el concierto inaugural en el que la violinista Judith Choi Castro, el chelo Raúl Mirás y el pianista John Paul Ekins ejecutarán obras de Mendelssohn y Beethoven.

Lunes 18 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en el Auditorio Aguamarina. En este concierto se suben de nuevo a escena la violinista Judith Choi Castro y el pianista John Paul Ekins para ofrecer sonatas de Debussy y Brahms.

Martes 19 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en el Auditorio Aguamarina. Bo Kyung Park, Judith Choi Castro, Sviatoslav Belonogov y Raúl Mirás ofrecerán obras de Brahms.

Miércoles 20 de febrero, a las 19:45 horas, en el Auditorio Aguamarina. Entrega de los premios del IV Concurso Internacional Agustín Aponte y concierto de los galardonados.

Jueves 21 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en el Auditorio Aguamarina. Andrea Kim, John Paul Ekins y Aurélien Pontier ofrecerán un programa de Prkofiev, Gershwin y Brahms.

Viernes 22 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en el Auditorio Aguamarina. La violinista Soojin Han y la pianista Bo Kyung Park interpretarán piezas de Schumanny Brahms.

Viernes 22 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en el Auditorio de Guía de Isora. La flautista Mihi Kim y los pianistas Aurélien Pontier y John Paul Ekins ofrecerán un concierto en el que se ejecutarán obras de Brahms, Gershwin, Mozart y Albéniz.

Sábado 23 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en el Auditorio Aguamarina. Recital de flauta y piano, con obras de Mozart, Albéniz y Rossenblat, a cargo de Mihi Kim y Aurélien Pontier.

Sábado 23 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en Guía de Isora, concierto que incluye obras de Schubert, Stamitz y Beethoven, que serán interpretadas por Soojin Han, Judith Choi Castro, Sviatoslav Belonogov y Raúl Mirás.

Domingo 24 de febrero, a las 20:00 horas, en el Auditorio Aguamarina se celebrará el concierto de clausura con la participación del pianista Young-Min Song.
