La Gomera acoge este viernes una jornada dedicada a la laurisilva

La Institución insular será escenario de la presentación de un libro y la inauguración de una exposición sobre los valores paisajísticos y culturales de la laurisilva en Canarias.

El Salón de Plenos del Cabildo de La Gomera acoge este viernes 8 de junio, a partir de las 19.30  horas, la presentación del libro Los paisajes de la laurisilva canaria, de los autores M. Eugenia Arozarena, Josep María Panareda y Víctor M. Martín. Una tarde en la que se resaltará el valor paisajístico y cultural de la laurisilva en Canarias. Tras la presentación, a las 20.00 horas en la Sala de Exposiciones tendrá lugar la inauguración de la exposición fotográfica Descubriendo los paisajes de la laurisilva del fotógrafo Víctor M. Martín Febles.

Los paisajes de la laurisilva canaria es una historia compleja de los diversos usos que se le ha dado a la explotación de los recursos forestales en relación a las necesidades de la sociedad campesina de los últimos 120 años. Las variaciones del suelo o la influencia de la niebla y de la temperatura son algunos de los aspectos que se recogen en este libro.

Tanto la presentación del libro como la muestra fotográfica son fruto de 11 años de estudio desarrollado a lo largo de tres proyectos I+D+i, y cuya realización está compuesta por un equipo interdisciplinar e interuniversitario, liderado por el Departamento de Geografía de la Universidad de La Laguna (ULL).

Con esta divulgación se pretende dar a conocer una visión del bosque de nieblas de Canarias en la que la naturaleza y cultura se unen para interpretar un paisaje forestal humanizado, joven y en continuo cambio a pesar de su aspecto natural y  su aparente madurez.
