Tenerife nunca gana en carreteras, porque no se hacen o los proyectos que se presentan son deficitarios e insuficientes para las necesidades viarias, circulatorias, económicas y sociales de la isla. El proyecto para el cierre del Anillo Insular no responde a las expectativas y esperanzas puestas para solucionar la ansiada conectividad Norte -Sur. Además, está abocado al fracaso, porque no servirá para dar una mayor fluidez circulatoria, sino que agravará ostensiblemente el caos viario y cogestionará una vía que tiene que tener todas las garantías para un tráfico, seguro, rápido, eficiente y sostenible.
Oscar Izquierdo presidente de FEPECO es contundente: “el Anillo Insular se queda chiquito, cojo y enfermo, ya que no cuenta con un proyecto ambicioso y cualificado. Ante las quejas unánimes del sector empresarial de la construcción, el Consejero de Obras Públicas no tiene tiempo para dar explicaciones, el Viceconsejero no responde y dentro de la propia Consejeria de Obras Públicas hay malestar y bochorno. La deseada unión entre el Norte y Sur no se puede hacer con un solo carril; tanto tiempo esperando, décadas, para vertebrar la isla y ahora la solución es deficitaria a todas luces, una vez más es decepcionante las propuestas que la Consejería de Obras Públicas del Gobierno de Canarias ofrece para Tenerife, dista mucho de las pretensiones grandiosas que tiene para la isla de Gran Canaria, tanto con la carretera de La Aldea como con el Puerto de Agaete.
El proyecto que se ha presentado no tiene otra explicación, sino el apresuramiento para justificar la falta de ejecución de obras en Tenerife, intentar dar la sensación de equilibrio interinsular en las obras de carreteras y silenciar el malestar creciente tanto ciudadano, como en el tejido empresarial, que cada día aumenta de manera exponencial en la isla.
No se comprende y menos se entiende, que el Cabildo Insular asuma un proyecto que sabe perfectamente que es insuficiente para unificar territorialmente a Tenerife, además de no contar con la aprobación de los profesionales del sector; hay una dejadez total y muy preocupante en cuanto a la protección de los intereses generales de la ciudadanía y de nuestra economía. Lo que se quiere hacer, es más grave que lo que intenta AENA ejecutar en el Aeropuerto del Sur y en cambio, una vez más, la institución insular mira para otro lado, manteniendo un silencio cómplice, para no asumir su responsabilidad en la política y gestión de la cosa pública insular relacionada con la movilidad
