MiradasDoc programa cuatro muestras informativas en su duodécima edición

El Festival y Mercado Internacional de Cine Documental de Guía de Isora pone su atención en 2018 en el documental de República Dominicana, el turismo, la animación y el cine de realidad de Isabel Coixet.

El Festival y Mercado Internacional de Cine Documental de Guía de Isora, MiradasDoc, programa cuatro muestras informativas en su duodécima edición, que comienza el viernes 26 de enero y se prolonga hasta el 3 de febrero, en el municipio del sur de Tenerife (Islas Canarias). MiradasDoc pone su atención en las muestras de 2018 en el cine documental que se está haciendo en República Dominicana; el turismo; la animación como herramienta de expresión del cine de realidad y la obra documental de la directora catalana Isabel Coixet.

Nombres como los de Johanné Gómez Torrero —que obtuvo premio en la pasada edición de MiradasDoc con Caribeann Fantasy—, Pavel Marcano —que visita este año el festival con Open Doors— han atraído la mirada de MiradasDoc hacia República Dominicana de la mano del director cubano Rolando Díaz, quien fuera codirector de MiradasDoc y es incansable impulsor del documental en Canarias. Con el apoyo de la Dirección General de Cine de la República Dominicana (DGCine) se exhibe esta muestra, en la que se puede apreciar un cine documental contemporáneo en el que el relato social se construye a partir de un lenguaje audiovisual muy elaborado y en constante renovación.

La muestra República Dominicana se proyecta el miércoles 31 de enero, a partir de las 15.00 horas, con las películas Muerte por mil cortes (73’ / 2016), de Jake Kheel y Juan Mejía; Blanco (70’ / 2013), de Melvin Durán; Noelí en los países (55’ / 2017), de Laura Amelia Guzmán e Israel Cárdenas; Mujeres tierra (30’ / 2016), de Wendy P. Espinal y Mijaíl Peralta, y Nana (71’ / 2015), de Tatiana Fernández Geara.

La muestra Documental y animación: una propuesta sobre lo real no pretende ofrecer una selección exhaustiva ni una historiografía del género. Simplemente, se ofrece una mirada sobre la propuesta del documental de animación al tiempo que se acompaña de la creación de una nueva actividad de MiradasDoc, el BTG DOC, el Laboratorio internacional de animación resultado del enorme interés de MiradasDoc por este tipo de cine y del trabajo en común con Bridging the Gap.

La proyección de las películas de animación, el domingo 28 de enero a partir de las 15.00 horas, será así una reunión de amigos alrededor del dibujo de lo real con la que MiradasDoc aspira a ofrecer una imagen cabal acerca de las enormes posibilidades de un género que ha venido para quedarse. La muestra incluye la exhibición de las películas Deyrouth/Beiroot de Chloé Mazlo (17’ / 2010/ Francia); 30 años de oscuridad (85’ / 2012 / España), de Manuel H. Martín; Faces from places (20X3’ / 2013 / Francia), de Bastien Dobois, y Pequeñas voces (76’ / 2010 / Colombia), de Jairo Eduardo Carrillo y Oscar Andrade.

El título de la muestra dedicada al turismo, Mirar hacia el turismo: avances y contradicciones en el centro del mundo, apunta ya el enfoque que busca MiradasDoc para este recorrido documental por algunos de los grandes temas y las grandes contradicciones del turismo en la sociedad contemporánea; fenómenos complejos vinculados con aspectos fundamentales para la humanidad en estos momentos: el cuidado ambiental, la gestión de los recursos, la distribución de la riqueza, el contacto entre culturas, entre otros factores.

La muestra cuenta con tres películas que se proyectan el jueves 1 de febrero a partir de las 16.00 horas: Viaje a Occidente (56’ / 2015 / Francia), de Jill Coulon; En busca de un lugar (80’ / 2012 / Brasil), de Felippe Schultz Mussel, y Holidays (84´ / 2009 / España), de Víctor Moreno.

MiradasDoc agradece a la directora Isabel Coixet “el regalo impagable de situarnos en todo lo contrario del olvido”, según las palabras del director de MiradasDoc, Alejandro Krawietz, expresadas en el catálogo de su duodécima edición. Por este motivo, le entrega en esta edición su premio Mirada Personal, por lo que las películas Aral, el mar perdido –(25’ / 2010 / España), un documental que muestra la tragedia ecológica del Mar de Aral en Asia Central– y Talking about Rose. Prisoner of Hissène Habré –(30’ / 2015) sobre la experiencia de un grupo de víctimas de la tortura en su lucha por llevar al exdictador de Chad frente a la justicia– son las películas encargadas de inaugurar el festival.

La muestra sobre la obra de cine de realidad de Coixet se completa el sábado 27 con dos pases: a las 17.00 horas, se proyecta Escuchando al Juez Garzón (87/ 2011), donde da voz al magistrado a través de una entrevista con el escritor Manuel Rivas. El film ganó el Goya al mejor documental. A las 20.00 horas se proyecta Marea blanca (28’ / 2012), una reflexión diez años después de la catástrofe del Prestige y de la oleada de voluntarios que participaron en la recuperación de las costas gallegas. La exhibición irá seguida de un encuentro de Coixet con el público del festival.
